Meet Samantha Jo Dato

Architect of Change and Defender of Liberation, Samantha Jo-Dato is a globally recognized LGBTQIA+ best-selling author, activist, and civil and political rights steward. For over 20 years, she has championed the rights of oppressed communities, infusing her work with a rich tapestry of lived experiences, acquired wisdom, and an enduring commitment to inclusivity.


Currently, Samantha Jo serves as the Director of Operations at the Trans Women of Color Collective, where she empowers marginalized groups through strategic initiatives, advocacy, and resource development.


She is also a cast member of Mirror Memoirs: Trans Mutation, a live theater production that sheds light on child sexual assault and amplifies the voices of trans women survivors through creative expression. As a panelist and member of the New Jersey Coalition Against Sexual Assault, she works to eradicate sexual violence and support survivors. 


Samantha is a 2023-2024 cohort member at Futures Without Violence, where she advocates for the importance of respect and healthy relationships.


Hailing from Atlantic City, NJ, Samantha Jo Dato has dedicated her life to dismantling systemic barriers, amplifying Black and Brown LGBTQIA+ voices, and fostering healing, empowerment, and independent thinking.


She is pursuing a BA in Communication with a minor in Public Relations and will graduate in May 2026, a testament to her ongoing commitment to growth and advocacy. With fearless, fashionable elegance, she remains a bridge-builder and freedom fighter, helping craft a liberated and safe world for all.
