At Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC), we believe real change starts with community—not institutions. That’s why we created the Mission Circle—a space for intentional leadership, shared accountability, and movement-building.

What is the Mission Circle?

The Mission Circle is a trusted group of collaborators who support TWOCC’s long-term vision. It includes volunteers, advisors, and thought partners who help guide our work—not just in name, but in action. You might think of this as a board, but we don’t. We’re not trying to recreate systems that weren’t built for us. This is something more intentional, more rooted, and more aligned with how we truly build power.

 We’d love to hear from you if you:

• Have experience with fundraising, organizing, housing, finance, legal work, or nonprofit leadership
• Can open doors—whether that means sharing your skills, network, or time
• Care about creating safety, joy, and opportunity for trans communities
• Are dependable and willing to collaborate on meaningful work
   

You don’t have to know everything—we’re looking for people who are aligned, curious, and ready to contribute.

 As a Mission Circle Board Member, you’ll:

• Join quarterly  meetings (virtually or in person)
• Support fundraising and resource-building efforts
• Serve on a committee or help with key projects
• Help tell our story, grow our reach, and build stronger community connections

 Your involvement helps sustain and grow:

• Dee Dee’s House – Kansas City’s first trans-led transitional housing program
• Mutual aid and direct support for trans and gender-expansive people
• Organizing and advocacy for safety, dignity, and equity
• Event Planning for community events and annual celebrations
• Leadership programs like Level Up, Elevate, Rhythms of Resilience Art Festival, T-Willow
