Dee Dee’s House

Honoring Dee Dee Pearson

Dee Dee Pearson was a Kansas City legend. A proud Black trans woman known for her fierce style, bold personality, and deep love for community, Dee Dee was a light for many. She mentored, uplifted, and created space just by being herself.

She is pictured here (left, in blue) with her dear sisters Paige Page (center) and Kita B (right)—all of whom have passed, but whose memory lives on in every corner of this project.

Dee Dee’s House is a living tribute to their legacy. It exists because Dee Dee believed we deserve better: safety, joy, and a place to call home.

Dee Dee's Legacy

Dee Dee’s House is a confidential, affirming transitional home for trans and nonbinary people—especially Black and Brown trans women—navigating crisis or housing insecurity.

We are not open yet, but we are actively building this space with intention and care.

Once open, Dee Dee’s House will include:

  • Private and shared bedrooms

  • A community space for rest, organizing, and healing

  • On-site peer support and culturally responsive case navigation

  • Access to basic needs including hygiene, meals, transportation, and wellness resources
