Headquartered in the heart of Kansas City, MO, the Trans Women of Color Collective (TWOCC) stands as a beacon of hope and resistance in a world where trans and gender non-conforming people of color face disproportionate impacts of structural oppression and state-sanctioned violence. Our existence is a direct response to the brutal injustices faced by our community, particularly the trans women of color who are subject to violence in our streets without national outrage or adequate media attention.
TWOCC is more than an organization; it is a global initiative deeply rooted in grassroots efforts, dedicated to creating spaces of healing and kinship. We believe in the power of community and the strength that comes from fostering connections among trans people of color, our families, and our allies. Our work is centered on building an inclusive and supportive environment where every voice is heard and valued.
Our mission is clear and unwavering: to uplift the narratives, lived experiences, and leadership of trans and gender non-conforming people of color. We are committed to not only highlighting the challenges faced by our community but also showcasing the resilience, creativity, and leadership within it. Our goal extends beyond individual empowerment; we strive towards the collective liberation of all oppressed people.
At TWOCC, we invite you to join us in this transformative journey. Together, we can build a world where equality, justice, and freedom are not just ideals but realities for everyone. Join us, as we all get free.
